The states of Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Hawaii, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada. North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, and Utah have all passed so-called "Defense of Marriage" amendments to their state constitutions by popular vote and have, therefore, been deleted from the Swimmers Guide database.

thats extortion! i don't give a crap WHO gets married, but since my conservative state majority says "no gay marriage" i dont get to check out the pools in TX!

well we should strike all commie nations from the list for being red pigs!

get rid of south africa for its continued racism!

knock the french out of the database for smelling foul!

c'mon i know that this guy runs the website out of his own pocket and its just a free service that he can do with it what he sees fit, but thats just bad form. theres no legal precedent for this sort of thing to piss me off, he's breaking no laws, but i just think its unprofessional to suddenly inject your opinion into a public service. its just a cheapo advertisement of his belief.

and if he IS gonna do it i wish he'd put that on the front page and save me the trouble of selecting "United States" from the list on the right...

I think it's cool. I mean, it's a privately-held website, so the webmaster is free to provide whatever info he likes. Sure, s/he could probably delist other states or countries, but s/he is clearly trying to make a statement about this issue. L ike the quote below the discaimer:

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing”.

I'm in the same boat as you turqy.  I live in conservative Ohio.  I don't preach anything except tolerance on either side of the issue.  The web site provides no information for me so it is a waste of my time.  Been there once and haven't been back since.  Too bad, because I am on this guy's side of the argument.
