Hey Everyone!

My name is Debi and I'm a 44 year old mother of two college students and wife of 23 years. My goal is to do my first triathlon by my 45th birthday (9/22/05). My husband had a heart attack and had 5 bypasses done a year ago. Since that time alot has changed in our lifestyles, one thing has been our fitness goals. I also have a dear friend named Michael Pate who is an inspiration to me to do what I can only dream. He turned me on to the sport and this website so I'm logging and browsing and hopefully many of you will be able to help me along as I plan on encouraging you! Thanks for the opportunity this site affords!

Thanks for the welcome Dana! I don't have a clue what I'll start with. I'm hoping Michael will help with that as well. I really appreciate the encouragement!

Thanks! I hope to start with something "small" but i really don't know. I'm hoping Michael will help. I also plan to join the local tri club. I've asked for a shoe fit at our local runners shop for Mother's Day! I'm going tomorrow!

Thanks for the encouragement!

Welcome Debi!
Best of luck to you as you work towards reaching your goal. (My bday is 9/18, and I'm tri-ing to reach 30...and complete a tri before 9/18/04 myself) Welcome to the site. I registered a couple of weeks ago and it's GREAT! The support, motivation and energy I get from this site is phenominal...I HAVE to log on daily to see what new inspiration I can find. Hope you find it as positive and informational as I have.
Enjoy training!!

Debi,

You are awesome and have made many improvements over the last months  in swimming and spinning.  Keep up the good work and hang in there.  You will have a great support group locally thru the Red River Tri Club and you will find great support online here.  Ain't it funny how you go to your first tri and you get caught up in this crazy sport.

Welcome to the Board.

Hey Julie!

Thanks for the message! You're right about the site itself being a source of motivation! I find myself making sure I stay with the workouts just so I can log them. Oh well, whatever it takes! I'm a September baby as well! Hope all goes well with your weekend and again thatks for the welcome!
