looks like... from the Hillsborough county GS pages... I'm guessing your local Publix, Blockbuster, whatever.

A: Girl Scout Cookies are sold by girls in Gulfcoast Florida from February 11 - March 12, 2006 at booths outside of your local merchants.

Pre-orders are taken by troops beginning January 6, 2006.

What's up with the Girl Scout's sitting outside of businesses selling boxes?  Here in Austin they don't take orders they sell the actually cookie boxes.  So yesterday I'm walking out of Sear's Grand and there were two Girl Scouts sitting at a table with their Mom's..."Excuse me, Would you like to buy some Girl Scout cookies!?".   How can you say no when they have the boxes right there...instant gratification!  I know I end up buying more cookies this way instead of filling out an order form to get the cookies in a month or two.

Peanut Butter Patties are always the first purchase.  Next will be Thin Mints.  Followed by Carmel Delights.  And finally an additional box of Thin Mints for the freezer.  Dang I better start training.Surprised

4:15pm: I have not submitted my order. Oh I want frozen thin mints so much....I think the poster above is right, I will have a harder time saying no when they're staring me in the face, taunting me. Evil chocolately minty love of my life cookies.

I have a double problem with that. I order cookies and I buy them outside the store. Maybe I can stop the trend this year since we moved... And then I stick them in the freezer and eat one or two a day to make them last longer -- that's when my hubby usually figures out which frozen veggie I've hid them under. Samoas rock!

If we order them, will they be delivered in time for Gasparilla?

If they come in early, will they survive until Gasparilla?

I just know how it works in MY house...I suppose if we ordered 2-3 cases we could keep them around for a week, maybe 2.

McFuzz - 2006-01-23 3:28 PM Oooh... The only problem is they are 12,600 calories per box-serving! http://www.littlebrowniebakers.com/cookies/nutrition/nutrition.html

Yeah, but if you break them first, a lot of the calories leak out so they aren't as damaging.  I was thinking of putting a box of thin mints in my Special Needs bag!

ahhh!!  way to spoil a thread!

the Samoas have 7 servings of 2 cookies each... that's 14 cookies per box at 150 cal a serving....  1,050 total calories.  And a big glass of milk and I'm pretty much done for the day.

AND... the samoas are the only cookie with the first ingredient listed as sugar.

so much for my diet hopes.

Your looking at this all wrong. If you know the calories in a box, then you know how many hours to run to justify eating the whole box. Think positive folks....

I'm sitting here with the order form in front of me. This is so hard. I am at least proud that I haven't actually written my order yet, but its bound to happen.

Sigh.

I only buy directly from a Girl Scout (the little girl herself).  I refuse to buy from parents who post the form outside their cubicle at work.

last year i waited, until a girl scout with her mom knocked on my door, and i was like "HELL YEA... HOW MANY THIN MINTS YOU GOT." i dont think they will go door to door again!
