For those that are interested the Outdoor Life Network  (OLN) is airing the "Lance Chronicals" on Thursday evenings at 9pm eastern.  Followed by the "Road to the Tour".  They are following Lance or have already followed him but the show will air for 13 weeks thru the tour in July.  I caught the first episode last weekend and it was pretty cool.  They just follow him around on and off the bike, early morning getting ready ect...  They are showing re-broadcasts thru the week if you miss Thursday nights.  I caught the show on Saturday night by chance.  It is also being broadcast in HDTV if you have it available.

Last week was pretty cool with them doing wind tunnel testing in Seattle, worked on his clothing, helmet (which will be new this year with padding) changes and some of the sponsorship responsibilities.

Thanks for the reminder, I caught the last week's one by accident. It's a decent show, giving a bit of an insight into the everyday of a world class bike rider...

I saw it at my parents house last week. It was pretty cool, but I don't get OLN. I am considering upgrading my cable just for that station. I just don't want to pay for the other 100 stations that come with it.

I can understand that....I have the Dish or I wouldn't get it either.  I don't watch it too much and usually it is only during July for the Tour.  I wish they would cover more Triathlons instead of 25 different fishing shows and 15 different hunting shows.  I don't mind the fishing and hunting but one or two different ones would cover it I think.   I keep thinking that maybe they are in the early stages of their history.  I remember ESPN before it was what it is now and all they had were the strongman competitions, australian rules football and bowling.  Nothing against these sports but that was all there was.

I've seen it in the TV listings, but alas, I no longer get OLN either.  I used to get it, (I think they dangled it in front of me like a carrot<img align='middle' src='https://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/images/emoticons/frown.gif'>) but unless I upgrade, I don't get it anymore.

Spare a thought for me, they play the AFL non stop, on every channel down here! (slight exaggeration but it feels like they do anyway)

I feel for you Aidan.  I guess the NHL has taken over that spot here.  It plays year round now I think.

Have just finished reading Lance's book, "It's not about the bike!". It is nothing short of a very impressive story. His first tour win and the training in the lead up is one of the most impressive feats of human endruance, commitment and focus that I have ever read/heard. If you have not read it -- well worth doing so.

I enjoyed his book "It's not about the bike", but I can't get through the next one"every second counts". It just seems like he's saying the same thing over and over again. I think he is one of the greatest athletes and admire what he has done. I am still hoping that Jan Ullrich can give him a run for his money this year. It should be a good race.

I read his first book too and couldn't put it down. Very impressive story and he's become a hero. He's even my screen saver now. Seen the new Nike commercial with him in it??Anyone have or considering getting one of those "LIVESTRONG" bracelets??

I have nothing to contribute except that it's really cool to see someone use "tabarnac". My friend's husband is French-Canadian, and I have learned a few of the words....

With you on that one...couldn't put down "it's not about the bike", and was supremely disappointed with " every second counts"...it struck me that somewhere between tour one and tour five, he had lost his humility, and that is what made his first book so compelling, that he was fallible. The second one seemed to be written just in case there was somebody in the world who didn't know he was the best cyclist in the world. I don't think any less of him, and no-one will take away what he has gone through...I suspect maybe his 'ghost writer/editor' could have done a better job...neat to see however, how the tour team interacts, and how much credit he gave his postal squad.

Jan won't be an issue this year. His training has been too inconsistent and he is reportedly in hiding trying to stay on track. Lance needs to watch out for Tyler Hamilton. If you remember last year's tour, he broke his collar bone on (I think) it was the 2nd or 3rd day of the tour and still managed to get 4th. This guy feels no pain! He reportedly clenched his teeth together so much that it wore down his molars! Forget Jan, I think it's all Tyler!
