Hi there
Fairly new to BT - thought some of you might be interested in the following website that adapts Google's mapping software to allow you to plot and find the distance and elevation of your runs and rides. (Depressingly find out that that "killer" hill on your ride is actually only .75 mile instead of the 2-mile giant it feels like!)

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/

Call up your location as with regular Google maps, then double-click to start marking points along your route and it will calculate distance etc and other cool stuff.

If you have a "thing" for maps like me then you might get a kick out of this.

There are a bunch of them out there actually. Mapmyrun is another good one.

They are definitely a valuable tool especially if you are out of your usual area and need to get some estimates of where to go.

Thanks for posting this one.

That is a very cool tool that I'm sure a lot of us can use. Thanks for posting it.

I like Gmap-pedometer especially since he included elevation profiles.

I like to use TinyURL to bookmark my run course and add the link to my training log.

TriTakeMeAway has this thing about maps...
