Comments: Placed myself near the back of the crowd at the starting line and stayed with the same group of ladies pretty much the whole time. Paced myself well. Took a gel just after the 4-mile water station. What would you do differently?: The only thing I'd do differently is try to wear something with pockets. Didn't have a good place to put my car key and gel Post race
Warm down: Went straight to the car and cranked the windows open. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. Event comments: The Freezeroos are geared towards serious local runners. I was worried about using this one as my first 10K, given that it's longer than a true 10K distance and has lots of hills, but it worked out fine. Drank lots of water the night before. Ate a piece of toast with peanut butter on the drive to the race. Got there 40 minutes early and picked up my bib.
Jogged around for 5-10 minutes.
