So, last night I had my first triathlon nightmare. I was heading into T1 and someone handed me my bike. Only it wasn't a bike. It was an Exercycle, the kind with no wheels or handle bars. Ummm.... So I started digging around to find some handle bars when the entire area burst into flames in the fastest prarie fire in the history of mankind. I'm not sure which was scarier -- the bike or the fire.

I'm sure nightmares like this aren't uncommon. What are some of your pre-race dreams?

The night before my duathalon May 2, I dreamt that I left my race number on the table at the hotel room and that I couldn't start the race w/o it! Needless to say, it was pinned on my jersey before we left the hotel next morning!

oh, golly.....nightmares...yeah, i get them.

they're usually the ones where I start the race with the run and everyone else started with the swim....or I can't find my bike at T1 after my 6 hour swim and then by the time I start my run it's dark thirty and they put day-glo tape all over my head so the cars won't hit me (don't ask...they're nightmares, right? )

ain't it weird what the subconscious can throw at you?

o.k., a few days before my first tri I dreamed that I left my goggles in the hotel room, and some guy clamped his hands around my ankles and held them for the whole (goggleless) swim! At the end of the swim, when I held my feet up with the guys hands still attached, the race official said,"oh well, just try to finish." Then off to the bike... which I left in a dorm-like hotel with a thousand rooms, and I couldn't remember which was mine. Searching, searching, oh my. I think the dream got worse from there.
But on a good note, I had a great 1st tri!!!

I had a dream I scraped my nuckles on the bottom of the pool and kicked the wall, so I was in too much pain to bike or run........
