I was driving home from work thinking, "I don't know...I'm tired...I don't want to work out..." but I got home and decided I should and did it! Yay! The old me would've wimped out...but now I'm in "training" and that's made all the difference!

Woo hoo! "Ain't no stopping us now!" OK, enough of the McFadden and Whitehead singing.

You go!

Way to go! The new you and the new me must have been training together tonight. I had the same inner conversation and then it started pouring out and lightning just as I was ready to go. But 5 minutes later off I went.

When is your race?

Way to go, Phoenix. Too bad we can't permanently exorcise (no pun intended) those old us's! They always seem to come back, but every defeat makes them a bit quieter!!

Woo hoo!!

I think those are the best workouts (or at least the best-feeling) when you almost wimp out but then get out there! Great job, keep it going!

Ovetta, you betcha!

There’s been so many things that’s held us down
But now it looks like things are finally comin’ around
I know we’ve got a long, long way to go
And where we’ll end up, I don’t know

But we won’t let nothin’ hold us back
We’re puttin’ our show together, we’re polishing up our act now
And if you’ve ever been held down before
I know you refuse to be held down anymore, well

Way to go and get out there on days when others would not do it!

Woo hoo!

Yay you!

I know that when those thoughts enter my head, the best way I've found to get over it is to just completely push them out of my mind. As soon as my brain starts to formulate "I don't want to" I push the thought out. If it gets persistant I get firm with myself and say "Grow the hell up and get your butt to the gym. Do you want to go back to your old ways and thus your old body? No? Then GROW UP!" Sometimes I have to still talk myself through the first 10 minutes or so of the workout, but I find that once I'm there the stubborn side of me won't give up.

Thanks everyone! Love the musical interlude--ha!

My race is on September 11 at Hilton Head, SC. It's a sprint....I'm just concerned with finishing at this point. Maybe one day I'll become competitive!

Now...getting outside to run was the easy part....going to the gym tonight? May be a bit harder to motivate myself...
