Subject: Help on fluid trainer choice
My mag trainer has seen better days and has gotten really loud.  I am getting ready to purchase a Fluid Trainer,  so what should I be looking for?  Is there a concensus on the board as to the best one this year?  I have been considering the Cycle ops fluid 2.  Any advice to share?

I personally crave a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine; however, they have a new model coming out soon called the Rock and Roll that has a flexible joint on the base so that it rocks back and forth to simulate climbing better.

I also use the Kinetic Road Machine.  Love it.  It's smooth and quite.

I got my Cycle Ops Fluid 2 in November and I love it. Have put about 400 miles on it so far and have not had any problems.

I had a chance to \try four models before I got my cycle-ops - by far tougher, more stable, and quieter.  Others were blackburn, trax, a trek, and the cycleops

I went with the CycleOps after considering that one, and the Kinetic.  I believe the CycleOps is priced a little bit less.  It's smooth, quiet, and gets the job done.

I second the Performance travel trac fluid trainer. I got mine for free with my wife's roadbike I bought on ebay 2 years ago. It's fairly quiet, it's stable, and it gets the job done.

I think they are currently on sale at performancebike.com as part of their winter clearance.

I bought the Road Machine because I read about the potential for others to crack and loose fluid over time.  This is my first trainer, so who knows. Maybe in two years I'll be posting a rant - but for now everything is A-okay.  Good luck!

We have a CycleOps.  Quiet, smooth.  Can't speak for any of the other models, but I'm happy with ours.

I bought a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine about a month ago after my Cycle-ops unit broke mid-session. I did consider the cycle-ops fluid2 but after had a cycle-ops break and actually getting a better deal I went with the Kurt. It's quiet, stable, and provides tons of resistance. BTW, the resistance units will be transferrable to the new rock n' roll frame.

I did some research and finally got a 1up trainer, love it.  No fluid to leak, very quiet and a LIFETIME GUARANTEE!!! I had a friend try this and the fluid 2, wound up with this becasue it was much more stable for her.  Also you can try it and if you don't like it you can send it back, and they cover the shipping.

Another vote for the 1up trainer.  I really like mine and don't have any worries about fluid loss.
