I'm having a difficult time finding a wetsuit that fits. I'm 6'6", 250 lbs. Does anyone know of a brand that fits larger athletes?

Definitely go to www.wetsuit.com There they sell Promotion wetsuits which come in a ton of sizes. Also, DeSoto and Quintana Roo also make wetsuits in big sizes.

If you choose one of the Promotion suits, go to www.trinewbies.com and in their forum, find "fatdoggy" and e-mail him. Tell him to put your name on the Promotion discount list. Then, when you're ready to buy it, you'll get a 15-20% discount. You can also do a search there for more information on wetsuits. Promotion wetsuits get great reviews and they are the least expensive. See this months Triathlete magazine for a review of the Promotion wetsuit as well.

Hope this helps

I've checked some sizing charts, and it's gonna be tough. Normally, the T1 by Desoto is the most forgiving of size, since it is a two-piece. But they only claim 200-230 lbs.

I've had good luck with my ProMotion suit, and they have one for up to 265 lbs, but only 6'5". QR lists one for 6'1"-6'7", but only 250 lbs. XTerra lists a suit for up to 6'8" and 210+.

Best bet is probably either Promotion or QR. I'd contact their customer service with your measurements, and see what they say.

Here's the largest size for each manufacturer that I know:

Promotion XXXL:
Weight: 235-265
Height: 6'2" - 6'5"
Chest: 47"-52'"

http://www.wetsuit.com/web/contact_us.cfm(has email form, they respond pretty quickly)

Quintana Roo XXL:
Weight: 235-251
Height: 6'1"-6'7"

XTerra
Extra Large 6'0" - 6'8" 210 + lbs

T1 (Desoto) wetsuit:
Size 6: 6'0" - 6'6" 200 - 230 lbs.
This is a two-piece - "bibjohn" for the legs, and separate top.
Should be pretty flexible height-wise, but top might be tight...

Orca:
size 11
weight: 216-250
height: 6'0"-6'6"

Aquaman wetsuits:
XXXL
Height: 6’3” +
Weight: 198 +

IronMan:
XL
Height: 6'0"-6'6"
Weight: 209+

Highway 19 - I did not find a sizing chart.

Good luck!

I got fitted locally by our local tri shop which was great because the guy could tell from looking at me what suits cut would fit me the best. The worst part is you are only good to try on two suits or so because your body gets so sweaty you can't try anymore on. Of course the more expensive aquaman suit fit me the best.

But I swam in it last weekend and have zero buyers remorse. :-)

Good luck
