I'm considering getting a 2005 Felt S32 (RED) which some shops are letting go for around $1,000 to make room for the $1500 2006 (BLUE) models.

I'd like to get better aerobars on them, LOOK pedals and eventually a decent wheel for the back.

Everything else on the bike seems pretty decent.

What are your opinions on this?

I've got the 2006 blue S32; I've had it for less than a week, so I can't give you much info. I thought it was a good entry-level tri-specific bike. I paid a bit less than $1,300 for it, though, not $1,500.

I would have picked up an end-of-season 2005 red S32 if they had had one, but they didn't.

I have had my 2005 s32 for a few months now, I picked it up as a leftover on ebay for $800. It is a great bike. I dont think you could go wrong.

I love my S32.  I put 2K miles on it last year, and my recommendation would be to upgrade the wheels.  Train on the ALX wheels (don't know about the Shimanos on the '06), but you're going to want better for racing.  I've got no complaints about my Look A3.1 pedals.  Overall, a great bike.

I bought an 05 in June, I got a great deal I paid $900. I was looking at an 04 but they did not have my size. I love it so far although my previous bike was a 1986 Cannondale(Neon Safety Orange).

Isn't $1,500 a little pricey?? I was checking a '06 S32 out at my LBS and if im not mistaken he was only asking $1,199 for it. I didn't get it 'cause I really would like to find a red one somewhere. Even if it is slightly used.

The 05s are selling for $1199 in red. The new 06s are BLUE and around 1400+ depending on where you go. I do believe it is under $1500.

I have an 04' Felt S22.  Like others have said, it and the S32 are great bikes for the buck, but the wheels are low-end.  The other thing you'll look at changing are the brake calipers.  The cheap ones felt puts on their low end bikes are worthless.  I ended up buying Ultegra calipers.

where did you find one for 1199? all of the shops around here are asking 1,299 minimum. Sucks.

I did it! I just purchased an 2005 S32 for $1088. Of course I spent some money on upgrades like Spinnergy wheels (used $500), a carbon Profile Design aerobar ($150) and some really nice Red Look Pedals ($179) and some red tires tubular tires ($80). $2000!!!

Not bad for a bike with great reviews!
