Subject: Hello Hello everyone,
I am fast approaching 40 and have been weight training for 25 years. In my youth I was heavily into competitive swimming (AAU ). I stopped swimming around age 20 and have continued weight training (and a little heavy bag training ). Recently I was asked to play in a parent/child soccer game and gladly accepted! I assumed that I was in pretty good shape because of the weight training. Well, about 5 minutes into the game I felt as if I was going to die! This was a major wakeup call. I realized that my aerobic capacity was terrible. I have started cross training (lifting and swimming ) with the goal of adding running and riding. In a year or so I would like to compete in a triathalon. This site is fantastic! So much info for a beginner such as myself.
