so sad, especially when its something that just about everybody worries about when riding the roads...
So much has already been said already that I don't really have anything to add.

Please add my name to the card.

So very, very sad.  I'm so thankful that I have a zillion miles of good trails to ride that are pretty much out my front door.

Great, great letter.  Thanks for thinking of it Hangloose.

The willingness of all of these people to add their name is quite moving.  I am wondering if their is a subtle way of sharing this so that she knows where the names come from.  A thought would be to leave the letter exactly as it stands and attach a second sheet with a list of the names.  At the top of the sheet you might make a note such as:

The letter on the previous page was created by members of the beginner triathlete website.  The sentiments are shared by all members of the beginner triathlete community.  Upon learning of the letter, the following individuals also requested that their names be included:

Great idea, but I think you can drop the "upon learning of the letter" because the original letter was written on behalf of the sentiment that I felt the BT community felt as a whole, not just those of us originally talking about it.  The individual names and locations are a display of how powerful this sentiment is and I think add to the letter but in this case I felt empowered to speak for the group as a whole.  (I don't take that lightly and I'm glad so many people have approved of it.)

maybe do it like this:

The letter on the previous page was created by members of the beginnertriathlete.com website.  The sentiments are shared by all members of our community.  The following individuals requested that their names be included to honor the memory of your son:

Yes, if you think it is better that way then I say go for it.  I should have also said that mine was only an idea and you guys should feel free to take it or leave it.  Your motivation has turned into a very nice piece of work.

OK All,

I appreciate the shared sentiment. I'll include a list of names up to this point, but I'm cutting it off so we don't inundate Ms. Jordan too much.

Feel free to continue to express your thoughts and concerns. I'll post the final letter later today.
