Never raced with a stroller but during training it does bring me down from 15 sec a min to around 30sec a min. About a week ago it bought me down a full minute per mi due to hug winds that threatened to make me go in reverse. I give credit to those brave enough to race with a stroller.
There is a very hilly race around here that a guy pulls his two sons on the bike then pushes them in the double stroller on the run. My goal is to race with my daughter when she is a little older and ready for it.

ya know, I was going to ask this same question today... I think I am about 2 minutes per mile slower. I was running mid 12's in Jan but all of Feb until now I have been pushing the jog stroller and am now running mid 14's. I have a 6k race this weekend and am racing without the stroller. I am waiting to see how much faster I am.

I have a friend that runs low 17s for 5k. He pushed a stroller during one 5k race last year and was a little over 19, so about two minutes for "really fast" people....

BTW starting at the back as you have to with a stroller is awesome. All you can do is move up.

Now THAT'S positive outlook!!

I've been viewing running with a stroller as a double-edged sword.

It's great in that you definitely feel like you're training extra hard, and do get the joy that is bonding with your kid (in my case 2, running with a double stroller).

However, I worry that it gets me used to running a pace that is much slower than I would like (even though I know I should be concentrating more on base).

It is great to hear the comments from those you pass during a race - really serves to boost the ego.  The problem is that more and more races are specifically banning strollers.
