 T1 |  Subject: Cool new transition productHey guys! I just ran across this product and love it so thought I would pass it along. It's durable, looks cool, and is really easy to set up. I don't know if most of the tris are like the ones in Utah and the surrounding area where it is really gritty and sandy, but it's at least worth checking it out! http://www.rinse-n-ride.com/ I saw this in the most recent addition of Triathlete magazine (the one with all the product reviews) No, I don't own the business or any part thereof, but just thought it was a neat product. You put one of those in transition and I guarantee you several people who comes out of the water before you will use it. I have seen it in every race I've done. There will be no water left for you. If you can hide it under a towel and you can isolate yourself in the transition area then give it a try otherwise use a water bottle to clean your feet off. |

I typically just use a hand towel to wipe my feet clean and to dry my legs off some. I can also see where other people would clean their feet off in your little pool. So, as great as it looks... I think I will stick to my hand towel. Less hassle. |

I was thinking 5 gal bucket with a lid laid on top (not locked - too long to open) would be a good way to keep others from using it. And when it's empty you could use it to carry all your junk.

For my first tri I was completely unprepared for that...so I drank my Powerade Option quickly and filled it with water and used it. After that I went out and bought a wee box from Target for 2 dollars. I put all my random tri stuff in there while i'm setting up, and then fill it with water before the race starts. Post-race I dry it and put all the random stuff back in. If the race has wading pools set up though, don't take up space in transition with your own box. |

I've had a couple of sandy beaches that really made a mess of me and made it very uncomfortable to ride/run afterwards. When I did my tri, I never even noticed the sand until after. I got stuck in my wetsuit which really pissed me off and "panicked" me so by the time I got me feet in my shoes the adrenaline was surging too high for me to even notice. Next time I'll use a squirt bottle. |
