hey from Philly

you know, i searched for triathlon message boards over the winter (which, in this neck of the woods, was hellish... needed a bit o'inspiration), and never found one... but am happy to have stumbled upon this one.

i am debs, 33, Philly area. i completed my first triathlon two years ago, and five last year, including my first olympic distance. i don't have a whole lot of time to train, but would like to work up to half-iron distance.

the run is my downfall; i am a slow runner to begin with and trying to run after a bike doesn't help my speed any.

i am not competitive in the least; middle of the pack to top 2/3rds. if i improved my run i might make the top 1/3, but i have no lofty goals of age-group awards.

i got involved with this sport because my husband infected me with triathlon disease (it is a disease. really)... he is pretty competitive and is doing his third ironman distance in july (germany).

i am having a hard time scheduling races this year because of his schedule, work, and the typical excuses that i hate to make, but need to pick a goal race (another olympic and maybe a half-marathon) and get my butt in gear.

that's a long-enough intro.

oh, and by the way, i tend to babble.
