I've heard that the Highlands Ranch Run Series (2nd annual) will include a 10K and a tri this year. Anyone know anything about it? Last year the series was five 5K's and a 4miler; one of the 5K's was a "splash and dash," so I'd guess the tri will be a pool-swim event. The series is supposed to start in March.

Yes, they are doing this. I can't remember the date, I have it written down at home. Check www.rockymountainsports.com calendar and type in Highlands ranch under triathlon and you'll probably find it. I'm thinking about doing it. I think it's in June.

I did the splash and dash a couple years ago.  Very low key and unorganized.  They had 4 stop watches going for everyone in the race.  I wouldn't do it again.  It may be better now?

The only part of the Highlands Ranch Run Series I've ever done was last Thanksgiving's Turkey Day 5K. It was well-organized, but we had a delayed start so they could accomodate all the unexpected race-day registrations. It does seem that adding a pool swim and a bike ride could cause the disorganization to increase expoentially. Where is the transition area? Do they release everyone at once into the swim? Do they use indoor and outdoor pools (and how does that affect the transitioning)?

As of this morning, the "website" for the run series is just a list of the races. I sent an email last week asking for more information, and was referred to active.com. I was told the website would be up shortly.
