Resident Matriarch  N 43° 32.927 W 071° 24.431 |  Subject: Since we're sharing....academic successes, and I do not want to hijack Dana's thread.....here's mine: Four A's, one B, and one C, in Spanish of course  kept me off the dean's list but I'm not surprised. Ah well, on to greener pastures.Summer session started June 1, and I could go to bed and stay there until then if not for all this training on my schedule! |

Cathy, I had really wanted to learn Spanish as well, but this just isn't the way to do it. Maybe if I had started a billion years ago in elementary school I'd be on better footing right now. Sarah, I thought of switching to German or Latin when I found out it would be only 1 semester, and not the two in Spanish. Unfortunately I was already into my second semester of spanish by then. Michel, I had 4 years of French in high school (a different billion years ago) and I do better with what you wrote than ANYTHING in Spanish! |

I have to satisfy a language requirement for my degree but am not about to waste time and money on French when I probably speak the language better than the instructor. I will opt for a language that I will use, namely Italian: I know the instructor well, so she can give me some extra coaching!!! |

LOL But seriously, can't you get the requirement waived? Being bilingual here will do it every time. I didn't take French because I really wanted to learn Spanish. How idealistic am I.....thinking that I would learn it in two semesters?? |

But, I have 3 free electives and have slotted 2 of them for beginner and intermediate Italian. I am lucky in that I am married to the instructor! Mama mia, la bella professoressora e mia sposa!!!! |
