Should you feel the need for punishment... try to do an ironman in a 25 M pool, a 112 miles on a 4 mile loop and then a marathon in a 1 mile loop... then come back the next day and do it again... and again for a grand total of 10 times...

check this out...

I would do it if I wasn't injured. Looks like fun.

Already added to my long term goals list!

The dates for it are perfect.  It won't interfere with IMCDA or IMLP!

Maybe the '08 or '09 season?

Please schedule that free mental health checkup while you're at it.

10 IM's in 10 days.......YOU'RE NUTS MAN!!!!.....not those.....sheesh....YOU'RE MENTAL!!!

Best of luck when that rolls around.

My only question is WHY???

Not why do that much distance, but why do it on a little 5 mile, 25 yd course? I would use it to travel accross the country. For the swim, I'd swim in an endless pool being towed by my support van moving at the same rate I'm swimming. Then I'd hop on the bike, then do the run, all on back roads across teh country. Sleep in a farmers field adn do it again the next day, and the next and the next, until I'm in CA. THat sounds like fun!

Are you guys forgetting about the DOUBLE-DECA ironman run in Mexico? That's right...20 consecutive iron distance races with little sleep over two weeks! Eileen Steil, that competes in these, posts on ST all the time.

That one would get you nearly all the way across the US. Do they travel in that race, or do the same course over and over again?

Most ultra endurance events like these are the same small course. The double deca RR I read was held in a pool. Its easier and safer to monitor the athletes. I think the run was a 1 mile loop too.

Sheesh... it would just feel like one really long training session... I think more ppl would give up from the bordom than the actual physical challenge!
