Subject: Recs for first sprint tri please!...

Hello - I'm new to this site and wish to begin training for my first sprint tri. I am a fit 33yr old female - looking for a fun, well-organized race that's a good intro for a first-timer and that's no earlier than around the beginning of June. I'm thinking of the Austin Danskin? Perhaps it's my phobia of the swimming part of it, but I'm looking for one with a swim in warmer water that will not be too traumatic! Any reccomendations that you might offer would be most appreciated... Thanks!

There's a list of bunches of tris (and dus) in all 50 states (plus Canada, I think).

i'm not familiar with the area, but if you are uncomfortable in the water, you may look for a "pool tri." It's just a sprint tri where you swim laps in the pool then go outside for the ride and run. It's a lot less intimidating then doing open water.

A great beginner race in The Rookie in New Braunfels. Last year the water was around 72, but the overall race is fantastic. You can find out more on www.trifind.com
