Hi All,

I'm new to the site, just found it today - its slow at work and thought for lunch I would surf the web. Now I should be working, but I'm writing insead.
This is only my second Tri season and I have set some pretty big goals. I am doing my first Olympic Distance the second weekend in July, and attempting my first 1/2 IM as a season finisher in Montral on Sept. 18th. I consider my self to have a strong endurance base and want to use this year to push myself to race faster. I have spent a lot of time on the bench due to injuries and hope to train right this year to avoid heart break again.
I train in Boston with my husband, a good friend, and sometimes with a tri team on the weekends. When I'm not training I'm either sleeping, eating or walking my dog.
I have no social life! Well that's what my friends say but I consider training to be social time.
I guess that's it for now.
Thanks for a great website, I'm looking forward to getting familiar with it.

-Sarah

hiya Sarah, welcome to your new team.  What team do you train with in Boston?  I joined TE a few years ago, but being on the Cape, it wasn't very practical for me after all.  I've also warmed the bench way too much for the last two seasons, also due to injuries.  So, you're not alone.  Nor are you alone surfing and posting while at work!  LOL

Nice to have you here.

Welcome!

We all seem to have this little problem of hanging out on this site while "working."  But it's ok, I won't tell if you don't!

Good luck in your events this summer!

I train with MRC - Minuteman Road Club - we train with the Southboro/Hopkington group. I rarely (ok never) get out there for bike time trials and weekday work outs, but I train on weekends with them (okay sometimes when I want to wake up at 4:30 on a Saturday to get my butt kicked).
It is so hard to train with a group when you don't live near them. I'm lucky though b/c a bunch of people at my gym are training too!
Where on the Cape do you live? The Cape is my favortie vacation place we go down to Dennis every summer.

I'm in Sales - so surfing the web is definately bad while working. I need to dial for dollars!

I'm in Centerville, maybe 20 minutes from Dennis.  let me know when you're coming down and we can do a ride together.  No one on the planet runs as slow as I do, so I would not subject you to that. But biking we can do

Ellen -
I'll definately let you know when we plan to make our way down the cape! I'd love you to show me some good roads to ride. My in-laws house is under construction this summer, but hopefully we will at least be able to come down for a weekend. My husband has a great aunt in centerville!
