Yeah lets hope it does. I am doing some easy 50's in a local pool and struggle to finish the 50 right now. Of course I have only swam 2X so far.
Going again tonight!
thanks for the response!

Hi newbie in Detroit. I'm from Royal Oak, Michigan. I will be doing my first sprint Tri on June 20th. I started swimming in August.. My first swim, I was out of breast after doing two laps! I now can swim a half mile and feel greatI still haven't attempted the open water swim yet... soon to come.

Hi there. I'm aiming for a sprint-tri in Sept too. Do you know of any special training groups in the Detroit area?
Good luck

Hi everyone! I'm from Michigan too! Southfield to be exact. Go Blue Jays (Whoa, I haven't said that in a while). Derek, I was shocked when I saw your name because I went to high school with a young lady named Dee Wiley and at first I thought you might have been in the family. Anywho, I'm living in Maryland now, but I'm training for my first tri in Novi, MI in August (Island Lake Novi). I don't want to ship my bike, but I can't seem to find a bike shop that will rent me one there. Does anyone have an extra bike that they might be willing to rent me or know of anyone or any place that does? Wow, since we're all in MI racing, we should get together some time when we are all there.

Good luck with your training and welcome to the site! I am also originally from Michigan, but I am a Yooper. I was born and raised near Marquette in the Upper Peninsula, although I live in MN now. It's funny that everyone here refers to the Univ. of MN as the "U of M," but to me, Michigan is will always be the "U of M."

Welcome!

Hello other Detroit newbies. I am also training for my first in August. The swimming is the hardest for me too so far Derek. But everytime out it is getting a little better, so hopefully by the time the tri comes around I will be good enough to survive the mass of bodies.

Good luck all and hopefully will see some of you around.
