Anyone do this kind of training/read his books or website (coreperformance.com)  I am totally impressed by it so far. I have been doing some of the premovement exercies and have been more consitent on my foam roller after reading his stuff. What do others think?

I signed up for a free week trial on the web site, and now I get emails from Mia Hamm!!

I'm working on consistency but I think there is tremendous value to his approach. I had the opportunity to attend a demonstration by Jessi Stensland (www.gojessi.com) and she credits a large part of her recent success to the program. There's a coupon code for a 3 week trial on her site BTW.

Yes!  I found out about it via an interview with Jessi on Simplu Stu's podcast. If it's good enough for Jessi....

If you get emails from Mia Hamm how bad could it be. Actually, I have a friend that dated her back in high school in Texas. As far as Mark Verstegen's program goes I’m two days into it. Can’t really tell you how I feel about it, being that I just started, but it was recommended by someone that I really trust. The guy who recommended it actually took Mark’s place at Georgia Tech when he moved on to bigger and better things. I used to lift pretty heavy, but haven’t really touched weights since I began endurance training last spring. I’m really looking forward to progressing into the middle of the program and hopefully building back some strength.

I've just started the program, but so far I LOVE that it's all lined up for me: here's my workout, here's my menu, and here's my grocery list for the week--all based on MY goals, needs, likes and time. Being a perfect procrastinator, this is just what I need!

I bought the book, and just started the program 'officially' yesterday (though I managed to make myself sore playing around with some of the exercises over the weekend). I like it a lot, mostly because I've never been able to devise my own weight/core workouts and have them be effective.

Does anybody have any advice on the 'hand walk' though? I can't walk my hands out very far, and today when I tried my feet slipped out from under me and I fell flat on my face in the gym (stupid slippery floor). How embarassing, but I suppose I'd better get used to it, I'll probably be falling off the physioball a lot in the coming weeks. But, seriously, how far do you guys walk your hands out?

I may walk them out well past my shoulders.  I guess that my arms and torso make about a 135 degree angle.

I heard a lecture by Mark 2 weeks ago in Colorado for the coaching conference, and I was really, really impressed with his knowledge. I am a physician, and could tell that he really knows a lot anatomy, kinesiology, and therapy, and is solid in his application of knowledge.. I am certain that you will get something positive out of his writings, but I havn't bought the book yet.

I walk my hands all the way out until I am in a pushup position. don't know if that's right or not, I should go to the website and watch the video again. I am finding it  downright funny that some of the exercises are so easy for me, and others so bloody hard. I can NOT do a pushup with my hands on the ball, but I can do the plank/bridge thing no problem, and I can do the marching glute thing all day long...  it definitely reveals some ombalances in my coordination and balance (and strength )

Got the book last year and pulled out some really great ideas. I've been considering getting back into it for my next training cycle, especially the strength component with all its wonderful functional exercises.

I got super inspired just reading the book.

Also heard about this from SimplyStu podcast. Finished reading the book about a week ago and found it most helpful. Now doing Level 2 workouts. Find myself sore after each change in difficulty. Seem to notice a positive difference in rolling hips during swim.

As to hand walk, can easily do reverse but not yet capable of hand walk. Will keep plugging away. Thinking seriously about signing up for 3 week trial. Also heard during interview that Iron Will does this program. That is enough endorsement for me.
