I am. That was my first ( and only) tri last year, so it'll be nice to compare times. I may do Wendy's in June, depends on how my training goes.

Just registered for the sprint distance. Got my new wetsuit via UPS today so I'm hoping to use it on the 23rd. Last year the course ref declared no wetsuits because of water temp. I need all the flotation I can get.

yeah I remember that from last year...there were quite a few people who were not happy about that.  Antrim park is still my favorite place to race in columbus.

Had a GREAT race yesterday! My additional swim training really paid off. I took 7 minutes off the half mile swim from the tri at Alum Creek last month, 4 minutes off my run and picked up .1 mph on the bike. Overall I was 17 minutes faster than Alum Creek last month and 11 minutes faster than the Columbus International last year. I'm pretty much racing against myself because there is usually only one other woman in my age group around here. We're the two oldest women who tri (I'm 54 and she's 50), so next year, I"ll have a whole age group to myself unless something changes.

If my swimming continues to improve, I'm going to register for the olympic distance at the tri in Sylvania OH next month. It seems that there are a few more older women athletes in that division, plus the additional training will be good for me. If there are any women out there from the Columbus area who are looking for training partners, give a yell. Pat

Good to hear, congrats!

I, on the other hand, had a horrible race. My swim was good, other then the complete invisibility of the course markers in the morning mist. I dropped over a minute on my swim over last year, so that was good. Halfway through the first lap on the bike, though, I had a horrible pain in my lower right abdomen. I'm not sure whether it was a cramp, or a pulled muscle, or what, but it was doubling over waves of pain that lasted through my shuffled run.

I finished, though, and barely pulled ahead of DFL - (174/190). I'm going to try to do Alum Creek on August 13 to see if i can get a "real" tri in this year.
