How nice would it be if trainers were designed to accept any and all skewers? Had my new bike racked up on my car, trainer in the trunk yesterday ready to ride and 5 minutes before work ended I remember that the trainer skewer is on my other bike. Totally pissed. Ended up riding in the super blustery wind in shorts and a long sleeve Under Armour shirt. Cold! Stupid me for forgetting. Stupider skewer for not reminding me to take it off my other bike!

I bought an extra skewer for by second bike, that way once winter starts, I change all my skewers and I'm ready to go regarless of the bike. Less setup work too.

I just bought a cheap skewer

I don't change them out- it fits just right.   I may be the only doofus who doesn't.

I don't change then out either.  I just leave the trainer skewer on all the time.  Both tenths of a second  that I'd save during a race just aren't worth the hassle.

For me it is not about the weight, I just like the sleek look of the skewers that came on the bike so I do the skewer change.  My trainer actually came with 2 (which I think was a mistake).

I don't change mine out, but the trainer has scratched up my black skewer that came with my bike.  So I should change it out just so my original skewer doesn't look all scratched up!

Speaking of the same thing - forgetting to change it out for my other bike... where can I get an extra trainer skewer for the GIANT Cyclotron trainer?
