NICE RIDE!!!!!
My LBS carries FELT and have started looking....for an end of season sale of course.
What other bike names were you considering and why did you settle on FELT?? Just curious as I consider tri bikes.
Thanks.
Ty
I wanted 2006 models of either the Quintana Roo Tequilo, Cervelo P2SL, or the Felt S22 all of which were in the $2500 sweet spot I was looking for and all three bikes are aluminum.
Cervelo can thank themselves for me not getting the P2SL. I live in a suburb of Los Angeles and in order to even test one out, I'd have to go downtown where there were five stores that were authorized to sell Cervelo
(Helen's Cycles
) and only one of the stores stocked the P2SL and of course it wasn't my size. According to several shops I spoke to, Cervelo tries not to saturate an area which their brand, unfortunately they have the geography of Los Angeles screwed up because all 5 shops are within a 10 mile radius.
The local shop that sells Quintana Roo
(Pacific Tri and Running
) decided not to carry Quintana Roo any longer because the sales on their line stunk. They had some seriously steep discounts on the 2005 models - I'm talking $800 off of a Tequilo. Unfortunately there is enough of a difference between 2005 and 2006 Tequilo models that I didn't want to buy the 2005 model.
Finally the S22. My favorite LBS
(Cycleworld
) which is 2 miles from me carries Felt, happened to have my size in stock, honored an internet advertisement
(which was a $200 markdown
) I had in my hand and gave me 15% off on top of that. I knew that the S22 was the same frame as the B2 and the componentry was the difference
(EC90 fork, dura-ace throughout, and 404's
). I woulda liked to have internal cable routing and a cleaner seat post clamp, but lets face it, I'm no Peter Reid
When I went for the test ride I had just finished up a three hour 55 mile hill ride on my Giant TCR. My butt and legs were sore and from what I'm told, that was the best time to test ride a bike. I swear, even though I was tired and sore, the S22 gave such an awesome ride - without adjustments, I thought I was in a Cadillac. After the adjustments, man I just had to ride the sucker home.
Long winded response. Sorry
Hard to contain the excitement!
