Comments:

My plan was to keep my HR down (below 160) for the first 8-10 miles and then bust out after that. It worked. I felt comfortable the whole time. Took the climbs well and managed the wind tunnel part of the course. I ran with a girl name Janie for the first half before she needed to stop for a cramp. Then, I ran with some soccer moms and some silly running club boys.

At mile 10 I decided to step it up but got caught in a climb so my acceleration didn't happen until the next mile. I finished strong and according to plan.

MotionBased Data
What would you do differently?:

Wear different socks - I wore a thicker pair that started to bother me later in the race.

Now, as I look at my HR data. I think that I could have pushed myself a bit harder. Good to know!
Post race
Warm down:

Stretched a bit. Ate bagels and Donatos pizza. Walked around with some tri club buddies.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Definitely my body weight.

Event comments:

Very helpful volunteers as always. Great post-race food. Excellent camaraderie.

I enjoyed the hell out of that race. Nice and cool, great crowd, and I ran well with no injuries. All kinds of fun.

But I did forget to mark BT on my leg. Sorry.

Excellent, and you're just cool as a cucumber. When I finally post a 1/2 mary report, I'm going to have to censor myself or the exclamation points will get out of control. Great job!

Nice race Marina!  Pacing and HR control looks good.  It's fun to go over the numbers like that, and now you know how much you learn from it and how much harder to push the next time.  You rock!

Wow...you rocked!!

You executed your plan beautifully and learned from your exp. Nice way to speed up at the end shows you paced well.

You were flying....I'd love to run sub 10 for a 1/2...you have a great season ahead of you!
