Subject: RE: Glass, Glass Everywhere! The areas of the bike path that I ride tend to have some glass, I try to avoid it but I know I run over some. When you see that you are heading over glass take your foot and run along the tire, that might dislodge some of the glass you pickup. If you are riding the path alot get some kevlar tires, they are WORTH every dime. It will not prevent every flat but it will help stop a few. Our bike path goes along two areas that are pretty run down, and everytime I ride it I get frustrated that some idiot thinks breaking glass on the bike path is a great pasttime. I know someone must sweep the path at some point. I have thought about taking a broom and sweeping the glass off but have not done it yet. I would also carry a patch kit, that might help some as well. Did you make sure to get the glass from the first flat out before putting on the new tube? If you didn't it might have been the same glass giving you both flats. |
