Subject: Hello from Halifax! Ok, I've been a 'lurker' long enough. I've been reading posts on this site for 3 weeks, getting lots of great advice (and support, even though not specifically for me it's great to hear of others having the same experiences ). I've never been in a triathlon before, but love biking, appreciate running, and love the water. I wouldn't exactly call myself a swimmer yet, but Terry Laughlin's Total Immersion books are helping me immensley. My first triathlon will be a sprint version (750m/20k/5k ) in Port Hood, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. I'm not a member of any clubs, but I have friend in the city who's training for her first triathlon at the same event, so we keep up on each other's training. I've been eating up books and internet pages on triathlons like crazy, hungry for information on doing things right. I'd just like to say thanks for a great website. The forums and training log areas are the best. Maybe when I get a little experience under my 'fuel' belt, I'll be able to offer some advice to people like me entering the world of tri.
Thanks for the support! |
