Subject: Intro - new guy
I have been running for about 2-1/2 yrs and just ran my first marathon in Feb. (Gasparilla). Had a little trouble around mile 22 my knee started killing me (IT Band). 14 minute delay, but finally finished with 3:56:56 Now I want to get into tri's. Just started swimming last week (haven't swam since I was a teenager close to 40 yrs ago). Did some biking for a couple yrs before taking up the running, so hope that isn't quite as hard getting back in the saddle. Well, enough from me - oh I'm from Ft. Myers, FL so never too cold for running, but really hot for running in the summer. Just Do It!

Welcome to BT!  You've found a great place for support and info.  I think you find the variety of sports (while challenging) is somehow easier than just pounding yourself into the ground with running (vet of 1993 Chicago Marathon here).

Make sure you explore the entire sight, as Ron and Maramadday have some great features in the log and other places that take a little hunting and pecking to appreciated.

TRI HARD!

Hey Phil, welcome. I'm a Ft. Myers native myself, but stationed in New Orleans now. My dad still lives there though, so I get down there occasionally. Good luck on your training!
