Pre-race routine:

The 9am start was nice. I had picked up my packet the night before at the pasta dinner so we wern't in a hurry. We got up around 6:30-6:45 or so. I ate my bagel with PB (but forgot to eat the banana) while my parents got showered/ready to go. Decided on short sleeves (turned out to be a good choice!). We drove over to the start and accidentally found a great parking spot.
Event warmup:

Nothing really, waited through the very orderly porta potty line twice, chatted with Dave W, and then found my wave sign and waited for the start.

Comments:

I really enjoyed this race. I went into it with the idea of just taking it easy and enjoying the day. Around the 2 mile mark, I started running with two other women. One of them left us by about the 10 mile mark, but I ran with the other woman until ~mile 19. The course was just beautiful. These other women stopped/walked through the water stops, so I did too. Other than that, I did not walk at all. I wasn't moving very fast over the last 6 miles, but I felt strong and picked off quite a few people (I wanted to make sure I got a medal as there had been talk beforehand of not having enough).
What would you do differently?:

Train more. I didn't run as much between Wineglass and this one as I probably should have (and didn't train as much as I should have for Wineglass in the first place!)
Post race
Warm down:

Walked a little bit, got my food sack, waited a little bit for Dave to come in, but then gave up and we went back to the hotel.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training!

Event comments:

This was a very well run event especially for a first time race. The course was really pretty. In some places the canal was on one side and the river on the other. The organizers had also put funny signs along the way. The volunteers were great and I liked having shot blocks on the course. I would definitely do this one again.

Course: Out and back on the Delaware Canal Towpath. Little bit of pavement at the beginning (and therefore also the end) but mostly a packed dirt/gravel path. One flight of stairs in New Hope. The turnaround was also in/near New Hope. The course was just beautiful at one point the canal was on one side and the river on the other. Very scenic.
