Subject: Road bike to Tri bike - change seat?

Im planning on upgrading to a Tri bike next year (not in 7 days 'next year', in 10-14 months 'next year').  Im still riding the stock seat on my road bike which isnt terribly uncomfortable but theres definitely some pressure in places I would like there to be none.

My question is do people who have found their comfortable seat on a road bike find that a different seat is more comfortable on a tri bike due to the different geometry?

Is it worth finding my most comfortable seat now if its going to change within a year?

Happy Holidays BTers!

I think it depends on how far over you go and what the seat is. I've used the same on both and it was fine, riding a couple hundred miles a week for over a year. More recently I've been making my tri position more aggressive, ie lower and more flat. The seat isn't quite as comfortable like thisand I'll be looking for another one. It's still just fine when I'm using the pursuit or base bar though.

I've found that the longer I ride a seat in a certain position, the more comfortable it gets. So long as I'm on my sit bones, it eventually feels fine. Whenever I change my position, it take a little getting used to again.

YMMV
