How has your Kinetic Road Machine done in the garage over winter? Living in WI it can get quite cold...at least eventually it will get cold. Do you bring it back inside each time or just leave everything set up - bike and all. I don't believe the garage ever gets below 35F or 40F.

I do all my trainer rides in my garage, but it is always heated or cooled. i dont think the cold would hurt it as long no moisture stays on it. I would hate to see surface rust get on your weighted part of trainer.

For almost five years I had my KK Road Machine in the garage.  Seattle isn't WI, but the garage did drop into the low 30s - I have a thermometer just to see.  It did just fine, and usually I had a bike set up in it.  Don't leave the rear wheel with tension on it, though - that can't be good.

Last week I got to upgrade to an indoor workout room, so no more cold workouts for me.  Now I have to get used to room temperature workouts.  First world problem!

I rode all last winter in the garage in Anchorage AK. However, my garage was heated. No problems noted even with the heating/cooling with the opening and closing of the garage.

How's the humidity in WI in the winter time? Anchorage was really dry, so there was no risk from moisture damage.

I had mine set up in the garage all last winter.  My garage gets to be close to outside temperature without the wind chill obviously.  I kept a portable quartz heater next to my setup and would turn it on several minutes before workouts.  After 15 minutes or so, I would turn it off and start to shed some of the three layers I would wear.

My Kurt has done fine, and no crack in my carbon frame from the changes in temperature.

Thanks for the input. I release the tension each time. I can sleep easily now.
