Velocity Veloplugs -vs- rim tape...

Anyone use the Velocity Veloplugs?

I am FED up with this damn rim tape and not being able to put my tires on my 606s! I take the rim tape off and the tires, with tubes, pop right on both wheels. Put the rim tape on and I can't get the tires on with tire levers! It's unreal but that's the way it is. (I think the problem is that the rim tape is too wide and is not letting the bead sit properly under the "rim" of the rim.

Thanks for any comments about the plugs.
