Subject: RE: Back after Hip Surgery I had a "hip" injury as well. I was hit by a car while training on my bike, and broke both my collarbone, and snapped the head of my femur clean off right at the hip. You can see the multiple rod insertions it took to fix it. Luckily the ball and socket are intact, it was just a matter of re-attaching the ball to the rest of the femur. Looks like no cartridge damage either. I still have 9 months before I am allowed to run, there is a chance that if it does not continue to heal well, i may eventually need a full hip replacement >< 15 months later I am losing the weight I put on and am working my butt off to get it off. Lots of swimming, cycling, elliptical, incline treadmill walking etc. Even some strength training, there is definitely a muscle imbalance now I am trying to take care of. Good luck! |
