OK has any come across the book? i just started the audio disc and it is pretty good so far.... I am a little bit worried that it will be has hazardously thrown together to feed off the success of the TV series.. it starts out about 1 week into the "plague".....

if nothing else it will give us some more flesh eating fun....

I've read the graphic novel the show is based on, and the show holds true to the book. Never heard of this book though.

I dont think it was thrown together because of the success of TV series as the Governor isnt in the TV series.   if anything it was thrown together because of the popularity of the Governor himself as he's been rated at #85 as one of the all time villains in comic book history and the fans of the graphic novel wanting to know more about his backstory and how he became the way he did ("57 channels and nothings on" etc)

I havent read it, other than the cliff notes, but I'm not sure if I like the 'twist'

I am assuming you've been following the graphic novel - if not, Compendium One, the first 48 issues has the Governor's interaction w/ Rick and 'friends'

I've read the book, and while it was an interesting read and it gives good background as to the development of the character I was, in fact, a tad disappointed by some of it.  Towards the end of the book, it seemed as if some of the parts were written merely to add more gore to the story as opposed to there being a point to it.  Then again, it's the zombie-pocalypse, there really isn't a point.

He's not in the show (yet). The comics in some cases are similar to the show, but wildly divergent in others.
