The reviews sound favorable. Aluminum frame entry level of $270 sounds better to me than $1k. Should I wait a month, gain some extra funds, and get an entry carbon frame? (jump to $500-600)

Thanks...

If you're that low on funds I'd recommend looking at a used bike.

Watch out!

I bought one last summer (road bike). I was in the same boat with funds.

While the bike itself is ok, I had problems with the handle bars and stem not fitting correctly. The sent new ones and they were the same cr@p! I fixed the problem myself and their customer service is horrible. They tried screwing me over!

I've made many upgrades and wish I held out for something better, but it is what it is.

I would save for $400ish and look for a used Specialized Allez or something along those lines.

I have one that you can buy for 200 if you want. Its practically new, so let me know. Not the best bike in the world, but I havent had any problems with it.
