Subject: LBS/running store - between Charlotte & Raleigh

I'm sitting here at my sisters home in Pinehurst, trying to find an LBS and running store. Found one in Southern Pines; they carry only Trek and Fuji bikes. No tri bikes/gear. Haven't found a running store yet.

Suggestions? Raleigh and Charlotte are both about an hour away. Not concerned about the drive; I just want to find a good, reliable gear store and bike mechanic. I'm going to buy a new bike when I move to NC and want to have a reliable LBS from which to purchase the bike.

Also, in Florida I can pickup at least 2 free magazines containing all kinds of info on races - tri's, running, cycling, swimming. The guy in the Pinehurst cycling store said you don't have that here in NC. I find that hard to believe. Anyway, do you have anything like a Race Place Magazine or Florida Sports?

Renee,

I like Inside Out Sports in Cary (www.insideoutsports.com).  The owner is a multiple Ironman and wins almost every race around here.

We have Endurance Magazine (www.endurancemag.com) which is a free resource listing races, training tips, etc.  You can also check out Set-Up Inc (www.set-upinc.com) for triathlon listings.
