4:15am:  60 mins/17 miles on the KK, nice spin.
5:15am:  25 mins of Insanity Upper Body Strength Training

Anyone racing this weekend?  Happy training/tapering/carbo loading...whatever the case may be!

Ha, we started at the same time. So here is my morning.

5:00 am - 3 mile run this morning. My mp3 player was dead this morning and I wound up finishing about 2 minutes faster than usual. Hmmmm, that thing is slowing me down

-6 F out this morning with -20 wind chill.  Seems like a good day not to run outside, and to head to the pool at 6am instead.

Today was my first morning workout of my New Year's resolution to start working out in the am before the kids are awake.

Did a 5' power test on the trainer this morning - legs are a bit jellylike.  Hard swims wednesday evening and yesterday has my upper body fatigued.  I'm not doing anything else for the rest of the day.

Nothing very exciting here as it's my easy day--just 40 minute run early early. No zombies in evidence except possibly me. Got bored walking back from store just now and calculated my total stairsteps today (to/from classroom, apartment)--almost 1300. Can I log that??

Ah....recovery day for this newbie. Great upper body workout last night!

Big day planed for tomorrow! If weather cooperates it will be a ride from home up to Gloucester and back along the seashore.

My Friday the 13th started out great!  Went to spin class this morning hoping to squeeze in because I forgot to sign up, got the last bike Smile.  Hammered the bike pretty hard then thought I'd do a nice easy 3 mile tempo run around the track.  Felt like I was at about 80-85% effort or so looked at my watch at mile 1...huh?  Slow down buddy!  Finished the 3 miles at only 15 seconds per mile slower than my 5K PR.  Signs of my run gettnig better, I hope so!

5am: 4 mile run this morning followed by about 10 of stretching and strength training. Off to a wrestling tournament this morning and it will not finish up until Saturday evening. So Saturday will be a day off from training.

Hard one hour on the trainer followed by an easy half hour on the tread mill.     Bricks are easy now, as the trainer and tread mill are right beside each other.    All I need now is a pool in the back yard.    Wonder what it would cost to build a single lane 25 meter pool?   I have the space.  An endless pool would be nice but it's quite  outside my tri budget at the moment.

It's supposed to be my day off, but I decided to do a Zumba class at the gym at work with a couple of co-workers... holy dayum was it a LOT harder than I expected!  It was a ton of fun too, but it took ages for me to stop sweating after! 

Tomorrow's long run will almost be easy compared to that!

That has been my life for the past 12 years...my oldest is 12!  You'll get used to it and come to cherish it as 'your time'!  I know I do.  It'll soon become habit!

Running with the thought:

If I do build a 25 meter pool in the back yard I might as make it like a water park's lazy river.    A 25 meter straight swim and  a current also.   It won't be as strong as the endless pool's current, but I could recoup the cost by charging admission in the summer.   I know I would be the hit of the neighbourhood. 

Just day dreaming on a Friday morning.    And remembering the summers long ago when I life guarded at a water park.

an easy 5mi run with 6x 100m pickups.  Possibly my last run before Sunday's RnR AZ marathon. 

 

Maybe I'll do an easy 2mi tomorrow.  don't think it really matters much one way or the other.  Although, my dog would prefer the run.

Decided to run 11 last night instead of 6 so when I went into the gym this morning my legs were tiiiired.  Strength training and an easy spin on the stationary bike this morning.  Hopefully I get a chance to take a look at my bike tonight so I can go on a couple group rides this weekend.

1700 Swim this morning.  45 Minute Treadmill run this evening.  Winter is back in IL.  Hopefully will warm up this weekend for outside running.
