tcarlson78 - 2012-02-09 1:49 AM Is there an easy way to teach effective writing to college kids?   Reading these papers are with difficulty.   Oh wait just remembered I am in TAN.  Nevermind

I taught effective writing to college kids for seven years. Three of those years I taught and supervised other instructors regarding how to effectively teach writing to college kids.

I received a lot of awards, including monetary, for this.

So how detailed an answer do you want? By "easy way," how much time do you have?

How much time to spend with you... that is not a fair question, as all sense of time would stop, a moment would last me a lifetime...

My writing assignments are not traditional Lib Art/ Science/Eng papers.  Most of my writing is distilled into brief bursts of data that highlight accomplishment and impact.  I suppose the closest analogy would be highlights on a resume

My precious Troy oz.

The short answer is: find lessons and exercises regarding conciseness, and writing headlines, Internet blurbs, and captions in AP AF style.

Fixed, I'll try but I just ordered a big box of obnoxious red pens to help me enjoy grading and a bunch of zip lock bags to hold the shredded bits when I return them.  bwahhhaaaa

Sorry Elaine, had to get some training in and then get off to work.  That website is an awesome resource to start with.  It all boils down to what are they looking to do and what is their experience level.  A seasoned bowhunter is probably going to be much more inclined to want pure, raw, unadulterated speed; short break height, aggressive cams, etc.  To them it's all about the flattest shooting bow that has decent balance.  Conversely, someone that's just looking at getting into archery (hunting) and hasn't been around the sport much is probably going to be much better suited to a longer break height (more accurate/forgiving of wobbles) and a less aggressive cam or single cam bow as that combination makes for something that's easier to draw, easier to hold and more forgiving to shoot.  Now the 3D archer or competition shooter is going to be much more interested in overall balance with some combination of speed and a little more forgiveness because accuracy is what they are after.  That person is probably looking for a moderate break height and a medium aggressive cam rig that balances perfectly.  Of course, there's always the exceptions but that probably covers 90% of the shooters out there.

FoggyGoggles - 2012-02-08 12:45 PM You're doing it again.

What you can only go one round?

Depends on the following:

- how many times did I eat that day?
- did I get a good training in?
- is there alcohol involved?
- what's on TV?

What are we talking about again?

Forget it too high maintenance :-)

I'm pretty multi faceted  However, I'm not sure what the best way to get stains out of silk are.  Growing up a small town midwest boy that got to highlight in the big cities on the weekends had it's advantages.

Cheri, I'm trying to get it all the way over there!
