I've been logging my activities on an excel spread sheet.  I was wondering if people log how many hours they sleep a night.

I log both sleep and quality of sleep, because I don't always get consistent sleep and I want to be able to look back and understand why I may have had a good day or a bad day. I also am prone to bouts of insomnia that last 2 nights, and always 2 nights in a row. I just like to track my energy levels and try to make sense of it all.

you can use the BT log to log it. Actually quite easy, just set it to your average sleep time, I have it set to 7, and it updates everyday. If it changes a bunch then you can adjust individual days.

I find logging my sleep hours gives me more incentive to get to bed on time. I would love to get 8 hours sleep, am thrilled when I get 7, have the default entry at 6 (and am saddened by how little I get to enter a higher number), and feel embarrassed and guilty when I have to enter anything under 6. One additional benefit: a low number is proof to my family that I need a nap the next day.

I also found that when I log my sleep, I'm more disciplined on getting to bed on time. I'm an 8 hr guy, anything less than 7, I'm a pile of crap! I just use the BT training log.

I have it on there, but I haven't updated it since the first time I logged it. I log in the evening and I'm always too sleepy!Tongue out Most nights it's all I can do to remember the workout, much less all that other stuff that one can log. I do try to get 8 hours, though. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. As a former insomniac (tri training in general and swimming in particular seem to have cured me), I try not to stress about it too much.
