Subject: wtb - power rear wheel, ant+

I'm on the lookout for an rear wheel with power, ant+, will use with my garmin, so don't need a computer.

Interested in a wheel strong enough for regular training and light enough for the ocassional 1/2 or full tri (would plan on adding a cover).

700 Clincher, aluminium braking surface preferred, though open to all options, price is a limiting factor (

Let me know what you have, leads to current online offers also appreciated.

TIA

Are you really in st. thomas? That may be a limiting factor to shipping a wheel to you in an affordable manner. I do have a dt swiss wheel with powertap sl+ carbon hub from 2011 but need to know your location first so as not to lose $ on shipping.

Sure am, Virgin Islands Zip 00802, USPS Priority is the only really viable option, should be about $40 shipping (have shipped several wheels in the past).

Many thanks

Not trying to hijack the thread, only help, but I was just quoted $72 to ship a wheel from Albuquerque to Ontario Canada so $40 may not be enough. It can really get cost prohibitive to ship out of the 48- an inconvenience I'd be willing to suffer to live in paradise

Yikes! last shipped a wheel about 18 months ago for $40, anyways, one of the trade-offs of island living.

Unfortunately, I cannot find a power wheel locally, so will have to suck up the shipping costs.Yell

I will be selling as soon as my new bike arrives in the next couple weeks so I can put a quarq on it. Just using my powertap indoors in the meantime. I'd be looking in the neighborhood of $800 shipped for a less than one year old powertap sl+ with dt swiss R450 clincher rim and dt swiss spokes.

Many thanks, PM when it is available, though Competitive Cyclist was selling that wheel for $660 last week, sold out now, but rumours of restocking are abound.

My memory may fail me but I think they had the pro+ version on sale. That's a heavier hub and doesn't have the carbon in the hub shell.
