Subject: getting started in Columbia

Hi,

So I'd like to do a triathlon...I never have and don't know where to start. Can anyone point me in the right direction in terms of group rides, training groups in the columbia area. I'm looking for a short race to start.

There is a large tri group at the ymca on the nort west side and we have an unofficial tri group on the north east side near lake carolina. If your closer to the ne side let me know and I can let you know when we get together. It's usually kind of random as to when and what we do.

I'm actually in Lexington so Northwest side...Is it the YMCA in Irmo? or is there another in NW Columbia?

They are at the ymca on kennerly road. You can also get in touch with them on facebook at nw ymca tri group. I hope this helps!
