I just wanted to share a poem to my fellow racers.  (What else am I going to do during my taper?)

The spring air is crisp, as the morning dawn breaks,

The bouys float waiting, anchored sure in the lake.

Many are nervous, as the swim waves are set,

But smiles are plenty, as the BT'ers have met.

The waters will churn, when the RD yells 'Go',

So swim swift my friends, and BEWARE whats below!

The picture brings back a lot of memories. We used to live in Columbia and our house was only about 2 miles from the start/finish area. I wish I had a nickel for every time I've run around that lake. Good luck to everyone.

Columbia is the ONLY triathlon I've ever done to date, and that was back in '92.

I'll be there to laugh at everyone's pain cheer everyone on this weekend! Plan on bringing two of the boys if they are up to it to show them what Dad will be doing next month.

Are there any get-together plans??

No plans that I know of yet, though the Gopher (Shaun) is in the Mid-MD Tri Club which will have a tent somewhere near the start/finish area.  My sister belongs as well so I may be around there as well pre/post race.

Otherwise, if things go well and run on time I should be crossing the finish in the 9:30-9:45 neighborhood.  I'll have on my Team Javelin duds and you can find me lying on the grass near the line right after that.  My wife and 3 kids will (hopefully) be trying to resuscitate me.

I go off in the last wave of the day with the rest of the Clydes.  If I can actually sustain my goal pace, I'll be finishing in the 11:15-11:30 time frame.

I'll be sporting my BT tattoos on Sunday and will be near the tent before the race, and clinging to an oxygen mask afterwards.

I'm debating joining the mid-md tri club, maybe when I stop by to see everyone I'll talk to them.

Good luck to all the racers this weekend

Nice pic, definately sums up that lake.  Its one heck of a monster.  In my past I worked there since I was 17.  So I can understand the troubles in that lake.  Good luck again

I'll be there for my third time at this race. This has to be one of the best races in the country. It brings in a great pro/elite tier and it is a challenging course. And it's 20 minutes from my house!

I was diagnosed w/ Strepp throat this week. I've battled a fever, sore throat, headaches, etc all week. So I am going into this race with sporadic training to start with, and a big disadvantage from a health perspective.

I started the season with an DNS on a March marathon I trained for over the winter - got the flue the week of the race and was forced to back out. This week has evoked similar feelings, but I'm planning to stick it out.

The Mid-MD triathlon club's tent has historically been just past the finish line by the boat ramp, near the swim starting point. I'm not an official member, but I often hang around the tent and watch the remainder of the field cross the finish line.

See you there!
