Subject: Getting into cycling, first good ride results
Just finished my 2nd good ride.  11.5 miles in 40 mins approx 17 mi/hr.  So I am 260 lbs 6'2".  Is this a good time to start out with or am I pretty slow?

I think you are at a good place, especially for a beginner.  There are definitely people both faster and slower than you (which will almost always be the case), but you are doing fine.  Road bike?  Clipless pedals?  Hills or flats?  That can all help determine 'how you are doing'.  Many factors come into play.

Mostly flat some small minor hills, trek madone 4.7 road bike, clip pedals

Already plotting my first 20 mile ride next week looking forward to it
