No plan to wear wet suit at he moment.Do the pads absorb water and become sloshy?Trying to figure out what to wear. First few times on bike and my Crotch is killing! Luckily it's only 10 mile and shouldn't be a big deal. Currently training 22 miles a few times a week so hopefully some of the pain diminishes. Thanks!

Tri short pads are often fleece; they don't "absorb" water, they get wet and dry fast.  Definitely not "sloshy".  You will dry out quicker than you think on the bike, and may sweat a lot (I do) on the run.  Bike short pads are a lot bigger, and may tend to get soggy.

Yeah, there really are two answers to your dilemma:

1) Wear tri-specific shorts.  Less padding but no sloshy.

2) Ride more, your butt will get conditioned to the saddle.
