Subject: Returning Triathlete doing IM Melbourne

Hi all

My name is Mark McKillop, I did about 4 seasons of short and Olympic distance triathlons and a lot of half marathons about 5 years ago.  Then family intervened and I now have a lovely wife and two kids, a boy and a girl, nearly 4 and 2.

I am now back into the sport to conquer an ironman distance race, inspired by the inaugural IM Melbourne Australia race. 

I will be doing some fun runs and some sprint and olympic racing to prepare along with a lot of training.

Yes I am regsitered for it too, it is my first IM.  How is your training going.  Are you in Melbourne?

I am based in Sandringham in Melbourne.  Our house is about 10 km from the end of the run course (St Kilda) and we are about 30 km north along the bay of the transition area in Frankston, which is where swim is based.
