Comments:

This was hands down the worst race I have ever had. I was doing great for the first 15 miles -- in fourth or fifth place overall for women in the 50k. Tweaked my knee in the sand somewhere around mile 7. Thought it would be okay, but IT band gave out at 15. Could not run at all. Walked the last 16 miles. It got pretty hot.

What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Can't help the problems in the sand.

My only problem with the race was having had to run through the soft, deep sand. Everything else about the race was great.
