Subject: Second Season Approaching

I am a relative newbie to this sport having only begun last year completing four Try a Tri's. I am registered for 5 sprint distance ones this year + an Olympic distance and am aiming for a 1/2 IM in 2013. I am pleased to be where I am now. Fours years ago I was 6'7" and 365lbs an ex football player who needed to trim the fat so to speak. I began running and after completing milestone after milestone- 5k then 10k off to 1/2 marathons to 30k races and finally marathons, i had trimmed myself to 235lbs in eigtheen months time and lost a resounding 12" off my waist. I now am 6'7" 235lbs have hired a coach, just bought a new Trk speed concept 7.0 tri bike and am trhilled to be at 54 years of age exploring a whole new world of sports.

Look forward to your advice and meeting you all.

Cheers

Holy cow dude! I thought my progress was pretty solid, but you are crushing it!

With that kind of weight loss, and going to half marys and full already?

You could definitely do a late season HIM in 2012. Seriously. No question. I mean, there's a certain wisdom in slow builds, but from the rest of your stats, that doesn't sound like your M.O.

Do you have some before/during/after photos of this transformation? I would love to see that.

6'7 and you doing triathlon instead of playing Basketball??? Tongue out

Great job with the progess so far man! I would keep at it and see how your first couple of races go but if you can complete them just fine then I think you will be able to do a HIM in 2013 no problem.
