I wanted to do the series but then work informed me that I will be out of town for the first one. :-( I may do one or both of the next two. I did one last year and had a blast! Really fun race...weird with all the transitions (I did the 300 swim, mile run, X3,  one) but really cool.

I'm doing the May one.  I have no idea what the Harris Lake temperature is.  The Army Corps of Engineers is reporting Jordan is 68 degrees.  It looks like fishingnotes.com is guessing that it's currently 61 in Harris Lake (they are also estimating 61 for Jordan so who knows).

So I'm guess wet suit weather. I have a really really old  sleeveless...this will be good enough? Thanks.

Just got an email from the race organizer (Marty Gaal) that the May 3 race has been moved to May 23.  When I checked FS it wasn't updated yet, but I suspect it will be shortly.  I'm bummed it was moved since I was looking forward to it, but the registration was so low I understand why they did it.

Well that's not good.  I was looking forward the the May 2 event.  I don't think that May 23 will work for me.  I hope that I can get a refund.

Sorry that won't work for you- tough when things work against you like that. It is great for me though since I wasn't going to be able to do the May 2 one!

Saw the date change on facebook. I'm a little relieved and disappointed all at the same time. I think overall May 23rd will work better for me but I was really excited about it coming up this week.

I'm sure they'll refund you and sorry you can't make the new date.  I was going to use this event as a warm up for the White Lake Sprint - oh well.

I don't know what the reason was for postponing it but I have to tell you, it damages their credibility with me.  (1) I should not have found out about it from an internet forum (last night), (2) postponing an event SIX DAYS (I received notice this morning) before an event does not show a lot of respect for the participants.

How are athletes expected to plan their training and racing if the events are in question?  People have been questioning the IOS50 and IOS100.  Now the Old School Aquathon is postponed.  What's up with FS?

What questions have surrounded the Washington races?  Besides the distances being a bit out of the ordinary and the attendance so far being low I haven't seen anything else?  And I think it's quick to judge that it is an FS issue.

There seems to have been some anxiety about whether the IOS50 and IOS100 races would go on as scheduled given the registration numbers.  FS Series has since assured that they would go on as scheduled.

You are correct.  No reason for the postponement was given.  Thinking that is is low registration numbers or some other FS issue as opposed to some other problem is speculation on my part.

I don't think this is an FSSERIES issue at all. Old school aquathon is put on by Marty Gaal. As I see it, he simply uses FS for some of the logistics since they have an infrustructure in place (i.e., FS doesn't own this race, they are just facilitating putting it on). As to why it was cancelled, I would just email Marty Gaal if you have questions. Or post a question on the facebook page and maybe you will get a response. I would venture that this has nothing to do with FSSERIES though, and more to do with the old school race director wanting to switch it. I am just speculating though. Sorry it screwed with your plans though...that does suck!

And the questionning around the washington races was just someone asking if they would be cancelled because of the low numbers. FSSERIES and others have been very clear that those races would move forward. I have no vested interest in that event but thought it was good, clear communication from this community and FSSERIES.

I went back to look at their facebook post. I really thought that it indicated that it was due to numbers but when looking at it again, it doesn't. I wonder if it originally did indicate that it was due to low numbers and then they reposted?
